SUMMARY:The Muse Gallery hosts Tuesdays Post
DESCRIPTION:Georgina Brett \nLucid Brain Integrative Project (Emmanuel Reveneau) \nPREHISTO’ZIK (Nelly Meunier) \n \nThe Lucid Brain Integrative Project \nEmmanuel Reveneau is a French artist involved in music\, video and theatre\, whose work is deeply informed by self-organization theories\, situationism and irony. He currently uses self-designed looping software\, Noundo\, to improvise wacky atonal groovy soundscapes influenced by free jazz and and the Canterbury scene. Emmanuel headlined at the Y2K International Live Looping Festival (Santa Cruz\, California) in 2014 and curates loop festivals in France since 2013\, notably the Loop Jubilee series. \nAnd the links. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/TheLucidBrain\nhttps://www.youtube.com/user/TheLucidbrain \n\n______________________________\n\n\n\nPREHISTO’ZIK\n\n\nBefore being a clarinetist\, Nelly was an archeologist. Since ever searching links between past and present\, she currently plays with the collective Orkestronika\, the circus company Tewhoola\, amongst others\, and develop her solo project: PREHISTO’ZIK. In this last named\, she makes her own instruments\, based on actual archeological and ethnological knowledge\, and loops those miscellaneous items with a RC505\, to create ancestral landscapes. \n“In music sets of PREHISTO’ZIK\, I try to create an anachronistic mixture: one side is the looper\, modern ethnocentric equipment of occidental culture\, and the other side the timeless and universal sounds of materials like clay\, wood\, stone\, bone. ” \n\nLinks: \nhttp://nellloche.wix.com/nellyzmuzik \nhttps://soundcloud.com/nellloche \n\n\n\n\n\n\nGeorgina Brett’s music is created using her voice and effects pedals\, creating instant choirs of sound\, often in an hypnotic style. Georgina’s music adheres to some avant-garde principles\, using harmonious parameters\, instead of the more dissonant style of it’s post WWII exponents. Georgina’s music is also gradually becoming a great vehicle for more experimental work\, delving into expressive work which plays with the rich world of the media\, politics\, history\, using matrices\, semiotics and phonetics. Latest release “The Eclipse Collaborations” an album featuring 16 collaborative pieces. Georgina’s work features in the recent movie “The Killings of Tony Blair” by George Galloway. \nPeter Kirn (CDM) “London’s Georgina Brett is part of a generation of solo artists who use layered loops to build trascendental\, rotating textures from repetition. Hardware loopers and effects pedals remain the preferred tool here for Brett as for many such artists. But Brett’s work is worth a particular mention for its ghostly\, ethereal quality and thoughtful\, delicate compositions.” \nhttps://www.georginabrett.co.uk/ \nhttps://soundcloud.com/georginabrett\n \n_____________ \nHosted by The Muse Gallery and Tuesdays Post \n \nhttp://www.tuesdayspost.com/ \n

SUMMARY:Cos Chapman's Openjack Takeover
DESCRIPTION:Georgina BrettVÄLVĒ RockinghorseFeathercurlsDJ New Wave SteveGeorgina’s music is created using voice and pedals\, creating instant choirs. Finalist in the Nonclassical “Battle of the Bands” 2015. Competition took place on Tuesday 17th February. She also co-runs “Tuesdays Post” Series 2\, a night of live progressive ambient in LondonVÄLVĒ is Chlöe Herington’s (Knifeworld/Chrome Hoof) solo project. Using woodwind\, electronics\, found objects and homemade instruments\, she experiments with textures to create inter-woven soundscapes and collages. What started out as an experiment\, morphed into a sound art project with performances at places such as the Hayward gallery and Serpentine has now started to venture back into music venues. Part composed\, part improvised\, ever evolving and often featuring an array of conspirators. http://valvemusic.bandcamp.com/ \nRockinghorse… Lee McFadden says: “The work of Rockinghorse is expressively challenging for both the participants and the audience and is enthralling to experience as a result. Sofia Figueiredo and Cos Chapman explore\, test and shatter the boundaries of modern dance and abstract music respectively – it’s as if each other’s endeavours spurs the other on – and we\, the audience are eager spectators – anxious to see how the spectacle culminates. Riveting from beginning to end.…”Joanne Fisher Roberts: The sound of slime moulds\, the smell of comets. SUMMARY:JUNK DELUXE + (SUPPORT) GEORGINA BRETT
DESCRIPTION:In between touring and recording with cult British bands The Alabama 3 and The Wedding Present\, local musicians Steve Finnerty and Katherine Wallinger\, along with George MacDonald\, Thom Carter\, Yoon-Ji Kim and Toby Barelli (aka King Size Slim) have created the unique sonic landscape that is JNK DLX – Junk Deluxe. \nJune 24th sees the band bring the ”gorgeous lushness that is Junk Deluxe” (Andy Weatherall) to the beautiful surroundings of the Kino-Teatr. \n”…one of those gigs you’ll regret you missed…an infectious groove…dreamy and ethereal”. Pete Donohue\, Hastings Independent Press. \nSupport comes from the extraordinary ‘vocal matrices’ of Georgina Brett. \n“Watching her build up a track\, even after many years of watching looping performances\, is a pleasure\, beginning fragile or even uncertain like an echo\, but gently growing to a calmly rolling sea of sound.”

SUMMARY:SHHH! Quiet Music Festival - Hampstead
DESCRIPTION:(Not sure what time I will be on yet for this festival) \nGWILYM GOLD\nhttp://gwilymgold.com\nGwilym Gold releases his second album ‘A Paradise’ on Brille. The inimitable songwriter and composer’s new album features collaborations with Hyetal\, Darkstar\, Bullion\, and Nico Muhly. Gold has been consistently impressing us over the years: first as bandleader of art pop group Golden Silvers\, then with his 2013 album ‘Tender Metal’ (which was released via constantly-evolving music format Bronze)\, and later with collaborations with artists like Hyetal and\, more recently\, Darkstar. Hyetal and Darkstar’s James Young both appear as co-producers on tracks from ‘A Paradise’\, as does leftfield pop producer Bullion. Meanwhile\, four songs feature string arrangements by contemporary classical composer Nico Muhly. Otherwise\, the majority of the album was composed by Gwilym alone at home with his piano before being taken to regular collaborator Lexxx for co-production at London’s Konk Studios \n‘Greener World’ and ‘Breathless’ both take post-OK Computer Radiohead as their template but\, unlike countless other pretenders to that piano-driven\, jazz-infused crown (think Coldplay)\, Gold manages to fashion something genuine and new out of a tried and tested sound. (LOUD AND QUIET – 2015) \n— \nCOLLECTRESS\nwww.collectress.co.uk\nDescribed as “possessed Brontë sisters teasing an unsuspecting dinner party” (Foxy Digitalis)\, Collectress are an all-female multi-instrumental quartet making lyrical music performed with a strong sense of visual play. \nTheir collective ethos\, aesthetic and approach reflect their left-behind classical upbringings and are inspired and informed by the practices which complement their performing lives: visual art\, musical composition for theatre and dance\, experimental film\, music informatics and free improvisation. They play and write with a sense of narrative\, drawing the listener into a thoroughly distinctive and beguiling world of experimental chamber music. \n“Their music is both … dazzling and enveloping\, made using conventional instruments and other unusual sources and found sounds. We were immediately conquered…” Cast the Dice \n“The most exciting thing to happen to string instruments in years… Submit yourself to this musical spell\, you shall not regret it.” Was ist das? \n— \nVIKING MOSES\nhttp://www.vikingmoses.com\nViking Moses\, AKA Brendon Massei\, achieves a special balance of warmth and command\, with familiar melodies that draw listeners in and oblige them to stay. Strongly lyrical songs are played out through tunes that flirt with pop\, soul and Americana\, all strung together with a unique pulsing guitar\, and by Massei’s robust voice\, which ebbs from delicate whispers to throaty howls. \n20 years and counting\, Massei has won over fans and critics with the delicate melodies of his songs\, and through his versatility as a performer — his live show is as compelling in a living room as it is in a major venue\, and his songs as natural in a movie soundtrack as on a record player. The lore of Massei’s outsider lifestyle has won him interest and praise. \n2013 saw the release of Werewolves Across America\, a documentary by UK Production Company Pulse Films about Massei’s life and lifestyle as a touring musician. Massei’s music also features on 2014’s BAFTA-winning UK film Kelly + Victor\, and documentary film The Legend Of Masty Huba (2011). \nMTV wrote: \n“If the DIY house show circuit has a pied piper\, his name is Brendon Massei. Massei\, who plays music under the name Viking Moses\, has been recording and touring independently as a full-time job since he was 14\, and he’s spent more than half of his life paving trails for other musicians to follow. Artists that Massei took on their first tours include: Deer Tick\, Scout Niblett and Nat Baldwyn of the Dirty Projectors.” \nAlan McGee wrote in The Guardian UK: \n“Viking Moses is ‘The Most Uniquely talented musician since Kurt Cobain… an absolute genius\, and one of the best musicians I have ever released.” \n— \nNADINE KHOURI \nLanding \n\nNadine Khouri is a Lebanese-born singer-songwriter currently based in London. Her sound draws on folk\, shoegaze\, moody soundtracks and spoken word – it is ‘music born of perennial outsider-status’ (Rough Trade).\nInfluenced by artists including Low and Mazzy Star\, Khouri’s forthcoming album Lost Continents is themed around loss and transformation. It was produced by John Parish\, a frequent collaborator with PJ Harvey and Eels.\n“A gravely\, female voice sings modern\, alternative torch-songs and the atmosphere is so mesmerizing\, so fascinating you wish this late night moment would last forever.” – Cracked Reviews \nJAMES CANTY\nhttps://www.facebook.com/thisisJamescanty/\nExiled from his homeland Essex\, for the past two years James Canty has traveled and performed in dives from Dresden bars\, Barry Island bingo nights\, and Irish Cathedrals on the rollercoaster ride of all-time highs and all-time lows of an upcoming songwriter.\nEventually taken in by producer Joe Wills\, living\, writing & recording in the confines of Wills’ Liverpool home studio\, Canty had only the hope of making “the music of dreams”. \nNew EP ‘Love’ touches on the big subjects – love\, passion\, inspiration and death\, even – in a manner which is fresh\, approachable. (CLASH MUSIC) \n— \nSAM GOODWILL\nhttp://samgoodwill.com/\nUpon the independent release of his freshman EP “Stampede” in the latter days of 2009\, Sam received acclaim amongst peers and professionals in the blog-o-sphere as well as in major publications. This lead to the eventual re-release of the EP in the autumn of 2010 under the wing of The Epiphysis Foundation. \n2011 found Sam Goodwill anew as a 2 piece. Sam\, along with partner Dennis Thomas\, took novels of accumulated material into a large warehouse turned make-shift recording studio to conclude the awaited opus that began with “Stampede.” The conceptual full length entitled “History” was released on vinyl in April of 2012. \nIn 2013/14 Sam tours with a 3 piece band\, including Richard Elmsworth (Gil Mantera Party Dream) and Bob Young (Public Radio\, Signature Event). He also tours solo with a stripped down / loop based repertoire.\nWhen Sam is not on the road or writing music he’s producing records in his warehouse project studio. \n— \nFELL\nhttps://www.facebook.com/F-E-L-L-12327016713/\nF E L L is Nicolas Burrows: an artist\, illustrator & musician from the\nNorth West England\, based in London. \nNicolas writes simple\, haunting melodies based around understated\nbut nuanced vocals. His pastorally-poetic songs deal with the\nmagic\, mystery & majesty of life\, conjuring up images of sun-\ndrenched mountain meadows & dark lakes\, populated by strange\ncharacters hovering just out of view. \nAn accomplished guitarist and\npercussionist\, arrangements often feature the addition of brass\, horns\nand harmonium\, with a sound at various times reminiscent of Mt\nEerie\, Will Oldham\, Robbie Basho\, Grizzly Bear and Seventies-era\nVan Morrison. \nPerformances range from full-band lineups with a revolving cast\nof supporting musicians to quiet\, intimate solo shows. Nicolas has\npreviously opened for the likes of Diane Cluck\, The Cairo Gang\,\nWild Nothing & Thanksgiving. \nCrystalline peaks of alluring melody\n– Rendezvous Festival \n…a lovely Buckley-esque tone to his voice\, gliding way above\nhis delicate pickings…a song that could probably have induced\nshivers in a slab of concrete.\n– Manchester Music In The City Festival \n— \nTOM DUNNE\nhttp://tomdunnemusic.com\nTom Dunne is a independent recording artist from Reading. Combining electrical and raw elements to create a smooth\, soulful\, and ambient future sound reminiscent of the likes of Zack Abel and Fink. Studying at BIMM (The British and Irish Institute of Modern Music)\, Tom only just started performing music independently late last year\, but has already wowed audiences with his talent including the BBC who have championed two of his earlier tracks on BBC Introducing. \n— \nTHE KINDLING\nhttp://thekindling.co.uk/\nCinematic songs\, fireside percussion\, ghostly harmonies\, and T.V. static dreams. The Kindling make sad\, strange and beautiful music. Like the crack in the window that makes a rainbow\, a dark\, dusty corner or the last wave that takes her initials with yours from the sand.\nDrawing influence from the guerrilla recording spirit of Sparklehorse\, Mount Eerie\, and Tom Waits\, The Kindling were formed in 2011 to breathe life into the acoustic songs of Guy Weir. Introductory E.P. ‘From Out Of The Wreckage’ was followed by a second E.P. ‘Half Light’ in 2013. Their latest release is the 2015 full album ‘By Morning’.\nBBC6 Introducing “Like Radiohead scoring a spaghetti western.”\nThe Devil Has The Test Tuna “Theirs is a beautifully laid back vibe.”\n—\nIREEN AMNES\nhttp://www.ireenamnes.com/\nIreen Amnes is a singer\, multi-instrumentalist\, DJ and producer based in London.\nComing from a rock background\, and moving into the contrasting world of electronic music\, Ireen has her own unique style\, exploring the connection between heavy sounds\, big beats and ethereal vocals. \n— \nAAYUSHI\nhttps://www.facebook.com/aayushimusic/\nAayushi is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from the UK. Inspired by bands such as Bright Eyes\, The Middle East\, Daughter\, and Sleeping At Last\, her music is gently melancholy and mellow\, yet powerful in its emotional honesty.

SUMMARY:Series 3 Tuesdays Post OPEN JACK WEEKENDER // 7.1 SURROUND INSTALL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN JACK WEEKENDER // 7.1 SURROUND INSTALL HOSTED BY TUESDAYS POST // SUNDAY 24TH APRIL\nSeries 3 of Tuesdays Post // Sunday 24th April:\nOpen Jack weekender\nEvent Room: 7.1 surround install\nNew River Studios\n199 Eade Road\, N4 1DN London\, United Kingdom\n\nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/open-jack-weekender-sunday-tickets-24398538686 \nWe host the 16:00 – 20:00 slot today…. We have been hosting events since 2012\, including the first London Live-Looping Festival in Summer 2013. Looking forward to presenting our Core Artists on this weekend of the cream of experimental live artists. \nWe begin our programme with an hour workshop from from a Deep Listening certified tutor and artist\, Ximena Alarcon http://ximenaalarcon.net/. She will be taking us through exercises that bring us closer to the sounds we hear and more present to the subtleties of the surround sound palette. Please bring (if you like): yoga mats\, pillows blankets\, loose clothes – as during the performance you are welcome to move around in a ‘Progressive Ambient’ sort of fashion ! 🙂\nHanzo will be illuminating the room with live interactive visuals and the musical performers may segue seamlessly from one performance to the next. \n16:00\nDeep Listening Artist – Ximena Alarcon \n17:00\nHems \n18:00\nGeorgina Brett\nGeorgina’s vocal matrices are made to stimulate auditory adventuring\, to soothe\, to baffle the rational mind .. to challenge and shock. Her evolving instant choirs inhabit spaces from Palestrina to Ligeti from Steve Reich to something other worldly. Georgina’s music creates instant choirs of sound.\nXimena Alarcon and Hems may join Georgina for this performance. \n19:00\nDarkroom\nMichael Bearpark: guitars\, pedals\, loops and feedback. Andrew Ostler: synthesizers\, laptop\, processing\, woodwind & reeds. Guitar but not guitar; synthesizers but not keyboards – Darkroom’s music starts with improvisation and a distinctive approach to sound design\, followed by disciplined editing and stop-motion studio craft. By turns beautiful and beautifully ugly\, theirs is a very human music that always sounds ‘played’ not ‘programmed’\, despite the technology that’s essential for producing it. New album: https://darkroomtheband.bandcamp.com/album/we-see-the-same-stars-differently\n\nTuesdays Post : Live Progressive Ambient\nWe host live performers with electronics\, who cross the boundaries of: ambient\, progressive rock\, university research music (electro-acoustic music)\, minimalism and improvisation. We have a preference for the tonal sphere of musical experimentation… 🙂

SUMMARY:Reflections in Sound : Authenticity
DESCRIPTION:We welcome the alchemy of the first full moon of the calendar year with the theme of Authenticity. \nAuthenticity is self love. Full acceptance of every level and aspects of ourselves. All the qualities of thoughts\, feelings and physical impressions. Our power and vulnerabilities. We seek bliss and magic but not all are willing to go into the mystery. Going into the mystery requires honest acceptance of our inner strengths but also of our inner resistances. When we deny these inner contractions they begin to dominate and self limiting beliefs take over. Manifest as external reality. There is always more to our stories. Far beyond our attachments to projections and old pattrens of seeing. When we embrace our self limiting beliefs these habitual filters melt away and we are brought to the next stages of creation and blossoming. Which brings more particles of self into our body and opening to grander experience in the human form. Authenticity is true empowerment. Power that does not discourage others by our power but radiates and inspires through the integrity of our light. \nWe invite you to an evening of focused intention to align with our authentic selves. Journey into the mysteries within to deepen awareness of our internal process so we can begin to externalise our experiences in tuned with our soul essence. Which is unique expression of source love. Infinite\, ever present and ever expanding. \nHeld in amplified field of ceremony with the guidance and support of sacred sounds and plant medicine Guayusa. \nIn collaboration with Violinist Sara Anderson\, Vocalists Cassandra Solon Parry and Georgina Brett\, and Sound Healer Lani Rociillo. Visuals by Leslie Claire. \nCrystal grids by Asari Crystals. \nSacred Sounds \nSound Baths are held as beautiful sonic immersion in voice\, spirit language\, alchemy crystal singing bowls\, gongs\, drums\, himalayan singing bowls\, various percussive tools and other musical instruments used with positive intention. \nPlant Medicine Guayasa \nGuayusa is a plant native of the Amazon jungle. It is highly regarded in South-American medicine tradition for its purifying effects on the body and induction of lucid dreaming\, astral travels\, and other altered states\, of consciousness. \nSpace is limited in the venue. Please kindly reserve your place for this gathering. Put together\, there is a chemistry that inspire and drive their improvisations towards a wide range of soundscapes. the choice of instruments and sounds on their palette allows them to dramatically change their music between beat driven electro\, minimal and microtonal improvisation via electroacoustic experimentation and nujazz. \nhttp://discus-music.co.uk/by-artist-or-group/inclusion-principle \nJig\nThis improvising trio comprises Georgina Brett\, Jude Cowan Montague\, & Iris Garrelfs. They combine spoken word poetry with electronic voice loops and manipulations to produce a surreal conversation that could be described as a meditation on chit chat.\nhttps://soundcloud.com/happenstance-happening/iris-garrelfsjude-cowan-montaguegeorgina-brett-power-puff-girls-sonica-found-music

SUMMARY:Moonrose presented by Sun at Night
DESCRIPTION:Sun At Night and Conny Prantera (Moon Ra)\nPresents \nMOON ROSE \nA ceremonial evening of music & performance in honour of the sacred feminine under the blood moon sky. \n“In the beginning was blood and the moon” \nYou are invited to bear witness to ‘MOON ROSE’ a rare improvised music ritual by a collective of women. \nThe night of the 27th and into the 28th is a very significant transitional time\, which will see a full total lunar eclipse\, and the fourth in a series\, the BLOOD MOON. This offers us the perfect planetary dome under which gather and invite our creative spirits in celebration of the sacred feminine principle\, to bring light and freedom of expression through a different channel\, and for this to be the one of Natural Creation.

SUMMARY:Tuesdays Post JUNE
DESCRIPTION:Minny Pops SpaceheadsDarkroomGeorgina Brett & Hems£7 EntryDoors 7pmFirst act 7.30pmMINNY POPS http://www.minnypops.com/\nFormed by vocalist/band leader Wally van Middendorp in Amsterdam in 1978\, Dutch electro pioneers Minny Pops took their name from a primitive Korg drum machine. The band released several singles and a debut album\, Drastic Measures\, Drastic Movement\, on independent Dutch label Plurex before joining Factory Records in 1980. Minny Pops’ association with the legendary Manchester label would see them produced by Martin Hannett\, tour with Joy Division and later New Order\, and become the first Dutch group to record a Peel Session. Singles including Dolphin’s Spurt\, Secret Story and Time were followed by the acclaimed album Sparks in a Dark Room in 1982. The band released two further albums (Poste Restante and Fourth Floor) before splitting in 1985. A concert at the Paradiso in Amsterdam on 24 December 1981 would prove to be their last live performance as Minny Pops… …until 2012\, when a series of gigs were undertaken in the UK\, the Netherlands and Belgium. Also that year\, Minny Pops recorded a 7″ single for Tim Burgess’ O Genesis label. After a pause to draw breath\, 2014 has seen Minny Pops performing live once again. \nSPACEHEADS \nSpaceheads are a cosmic duo of trumpet electronics and drums. Andy Diagram plays trumpet with a mobile phone stuck to the top with a fish slice and Richard Harrison plays drums with big bendy metal sheets stuck to the top. They create live looped layers of brass driven by flurries of free flowing funky drums. \nSpaceheads were formed in 1990 and have developed a blend of electronics and sunshine fanfares over the course of ten albums\, 3 EPs and much touring across Europe and the USA. Andy and Richard have achieved an intuition of what each is about to do next which makes their semi-improvised gigs a joy to behold. \nOver the last two years Spaceheads have released two four track EPs on their own Electric Brass Records – Sun Radar and Trip to the Moon. Both received good press and radio play around the world. They release their first studio album in ten years this Autumn. Look out for it – “A short ride on the Arrow of Time” \n\nSpaceheads are joined by Rucksack Cinema who has an astonishing and almost preternatural ability to mix imagery with what is happening on stage as well as creating strange and wonderful atmospheres throughout a room. \nhttp://spaceheads.co.uk/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/spaceheads\nSpaceheads\nTrumpet\, Drums and Electronics\nspaceheads.co.uk \nDARKROOM\nwww.darkroomtheband.net/ \nThe UK-based duo of Michael Bearpark (guitars) and Andrew Ostler (synths) expertly ride the line between luscious\, old-school progressive rock and modern ambient electronics. At times reminiscent of early Tangerine Dream\, with hints of Fripp and Eno\, Darkroom creates clouds of sequenced synths\, chewy grooves\, and looped phrases to support a variety of acoustic and electric guitar melodies that twist and turn in surprising\, occasionally aggressive\, ways. Moody and well-orchestrated\, this release takes you places. “The term “progressive electronica” is definitely an apt one for this duo. It’s accessible and addictive\, while remaining expansive and exploratory. Quite a feat. I’ve been listening to these guys for nearly 20 years. Darkroom is a constant source of intrigue\, wonder and invention.” Anil Prasad April 2014. \nGEORGINA BRETT & HEMS\nhttp://hems.io/\nhttp://georginabrett.co.uk/ \nHems Aka Henrique Matias will be playing live with Georgina Brett. Henrique is a multi-talented composer\, programmer and dj.. He specialises in Multimedia programming ( from internet things to Max/MSP and similars )\, although not all his live music and performances sounds like computer music (sometimes he takes his drum machines and crazy things out of the house). \nGeorgina Brett’s music is created using her voice and effects pedals\, creating instant choirs of sound\, often in an hypnotic style. The point of this music is not only to captivate with extraordinary timing and melodic style but also to help the listener to relax\, in our ever-increasingly fast world.\n“…Brett’s work is worth a particular mention for its ghostly\, ethereal quality and thoughtful\, delicate compositions…There is for me a continuum connecting to the Minimalists\, of course – as a soloist\, she’s doing some of the things that the Meredith Monk Ensemble did (minus the loopers)\, and there’s a feeling of the “discovered folk music” that Monk used in her work. Other moments have the quasi-Medieval sounds of Philip Glass — one track recalling the “Knee Plays\,” other moments perhaps channeling Hildegard\, in flourishes of modal monophony that underlie the writing. But this voice seems personal and intimate\, centering on folk song round-style directness..” Peter Kirn CDM \nInteractive Visuals by Hanzo https://www.facebook.com/h2olab \nMulti projections by Rucksack Cinema\n_______________________________ \nTuesdays Post hosts live performers with electronics\, who cross the boundaries of: ambient\, progressive rock\, university research music (electro-acoustic music)\, minimalism and improvisation. Often our artists are using hardware and software loopers. \n“A little minimal\, a little magical\, a little chaotic and little bizarre. Live on stage. The craft of harmony and rhythm taken off the beaten track.. Risky live electronic music. Boxes\, wires\, instruments\, pedals\, and laptops … a platform for new sounds\, collaborations and innovation.”\nMore info to follow

SUMMARY:Surfing on Sine Waves - Silencio
DESCRIPTION:Silencio presents\, Surfing on Sine waves.A night of Looping\,experimental & electronic improvised music. Georgina Brett – http://georginabrett.co.uk/Georgina Brett’s music is created using her voice and effects pedals\, creating instant choirs of sound\, often in an hypnotic style. The point of this music is not only to captivate with extraordinary timing and melodic style but also to help the listener to relax\, in our ever-increasingly fast world. Her double album Nonsense A and Nonsense B is of purely vocal works with no ‘deliberate’ words or lyrics. The albums show the voice as an instrument\, and as a vehicle for emotional expression. “So much music produced in the World is made in order to make us feel something so as to manipulate us to buy or to follow.. this album let’s your thoughts be whatever they want to be.” The albums also play with the idea that we like to interpret\, constantly listening for meaning instead of just listening. Intellectually\, Georgina’s music adheres to some modernist and avant-garde principles but using harmonious parameters\, instead of the more dissonant style of it’s post-WW1 and WW2 exponents. Georgina’s music is also gradually becoming a great vehicle for more experimental work\, delving into expressive work which plays with the rich world of the media\, politics\, history\, using matrices\, semiotics and phonetics. \nCos Chapman – https://soundcloud.com/coschapman\nI’m currently performing solo improvised electronics\, playing guitar with punk-cabaret star Miss Roberts as part of “Rude Mechanicals”; creating sound-design for installation\, theatre and film; and playing bass with sax driven post-punkers “I Am Meat”. I started my working life as an Oceanographer\, at the same time experimenting extensively with sound\, using modified reel-to-reel and self-built devices; after 12 years I went to Lancaster University to study Music\, Technology and Theatre and while there I began to pursue my interest in cross art-form collaborations and soundtracks. I did my PhD in Electroacoustics at Anglia Ruskin Cambridge. \nJames Conway – https://soundcloud.com/james-conway\nBrighton based musician James Conway is usually seen with electronic outfit Not These Tones\, but this time it’s an eclectic solo show on mixer\, sampler and synth duties. No two performances by James are the same; it’s method in the moment\, thrill in the risk. soundcloud.com/james-conway \nTom Fox – http://www.vulpestruments.com/\nTom Fox is an experimental instrument builder who focuses on using reclaimed materials to create new and unique sounds and textures from common items. \nDJ intermission music * Steve Reich * Philip Glass * Velvet Underground * Can * \nDoors 1830 . His current projects include the trio Busnoys with Jeff Spencer and Trevor Davies\, and an improvising duo with fellow vibraphonist Corey Mwamba. \n“Busnoys offer an intelligent\, imaginative combination of vibes\, bass guitar and drums. Recalling Gary Burton’s sixties group with Steve Swallow\, this is a genuinely contemporary record that should appeal to new as well as established jazz fans” JAZZ UK reviewing Busnoys’ debut album San Angelo. \n“The beautiful sound of Busnoys.” Fiona Talkington on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction \nMinor Pilot http://minorpilot.co.uk/ \nThe band of the book of the film of the song of the story of the painting of the dream. \nBased in the Hitchin area of North Herts\, Minor Pilot are four people playing some instrumental\, proggy/rocky/noisy/droney/metaly music.\nA recent lineup change has provided a breath of fresh (but very noisy)air\, in the form of Latitudes guitarist Tim Blyth. The band’s previous two releases (Minor/Major\, and The Enlightenment) are available free to download from their bandcamp. But in the new world\, this has all been abandoned and everything built from the ground up again.\nThere’s no telling what they’ll be up to now\, but you can bet it’s going to be loud.\nLineup :\nRupert Boddington : Drums\nNick Keogh : Bass\nTim Blyth : Guitar\nDanny Keighren : Guitar \nGeorgina Brett http://www.georginabrett.co.uk/ \nGeorgina Brett’s music is created using her voice and effects pedals\, creating instant choirs of sound\, often in an hypnotic style. But this voice seems personal and intimate\, centering on folk song round-style directness..” Peter Kirn CDM \nDarkroom www.darkroomtheband.net/ \nThe UK-based duo of Michael Bearpark (guitars) and Andrew Ostler (synths) expertly ride the line between luscious\, old-school progressive rock and modern ambient electronics. \nHems DJ set http://hems.io/ \nAka Henrique Matias will be playing us some tunes.. Henrique is a multi-talented composer\, programmer and dj.. SUMMARY:Carol concert St Mary Aldermary
DESCRIPTION:The third of three informal concerts at St Mary Aldermary this season. All meditative versions of Christmas Carols.\n\n\nI will be presenting live versions of the songs on my Christmas card with CD \n_________________ \n“A Minimal Christmas” greetings card with cd attached. ….£7.99 each \nThis cd contains versions of 6 well-known Christmas Carols. The idea was to represent them in a meditative style. The tracks are all vocal live-looping\, the sounds are one person with some technology and a head full of chords and ideas.. \nCarols are ubiquitous\, we know them so well\, but what are they saying? What do they say to us? What they make us feel and what the words are\, are often completely separate\, so here each carol is treated in a way that captures the essence of the carol evoking our emotional response\, sometimes due to the lack of words in the vocal sounds. (Most of the Carols retain some or all of the words of the original). It gives us a chance to see the power of the emotive nature of the carols and perhaps reconnects us to the Christmas of days gone by. \n1. The Angel Gabriel – (Baring-Gould/Wilcocks) absolute classic\, so stylish and\nthe harmonies are exquisite\, so i left them as they are. \n2. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – (Traditional English Carol). \nCompletely reworked the extra melody lines\, with the carol gently digressing towards the end. \n3. The Coventry Carol – (Traditional English Carol). This carol is so harmonically rich there are endless melodies to be interwoven\, so this is a rework of the structure of the song\, improvisation being possible in the live version. \n4. In Dulce Jubilo (German Traditional Carol) If you ever heard Pygmies sing their interwoven matrices of songs then you might find this flavour here… The melody is not at all apparent until a way through the track. \n5. Gaudete – ( Swedish Traditional Carol)Again this adaptation has great scope for improvisation\, with a surprising ostinato in the first section and alternating chords in the second. A unique song. \n6. In The Bleak Mid-Winter – (Holst/Rosetti)I had fun working out what to do with this. I found inspiration from the music of two Ugandan wooden xylophone players. They play interlocking tunes to make a melody twice the speed. I added a twist in that i swap parts half way through each line. So much fun to sing! \n  \n£1 from each sale goes to www.thepassage.co.uk a homeless charity in London. \nDonations to the Church
