Dimensional Doors – (triphop, slow rhythmic, synth, hi-hat goes wild)

Dimensional Doors was composed in 1998-9? I had recently bought equipment to be able to work on compositions in my own studio, and was looking for work. I met Jason Mayo, who at the time was composing music for film and tv. He lent me the space above his studio in The Grand Union Centre, North Kensington, London.

In this piece i wanted to make an electro-acoustic trip-hop instrumental piece that gave the hi-hat the chance to misbehave, to just do what it wants, no sense of repetition, just doing its’ thing, as though it is talking.

There are electro-acoustic elements within the piece, and also some Nordlead rhythms, I had bought the Nordlead 2, the one with the wooden and the stone portamento wheels.
