I built up this song starting in parts with the notes in Part 1 and working through until all notes are present. I sing the on-the-beat notes (part 1 – 3) on one delay pedal and the off-the-beat notes (Parts 4 – 7) on another pedal with the same length loop… thus allowing me to turn down one, so that the absence of the on-the-beat notes makes the off-the-beat notes sound like they are on the beat.. ! there’s lots of improvisation and presentation of the Gounod – Ave Maria.. This is a live recording at St Mary Aldermary, London, in 2014, you can hear the coffee machine and general banging in the coffee stall at the back of the church.
